El Arish

not such a great map, but maybe you can get an idea of where all these places are located. I've been to Alexandria, and these photos in this entry are from El Arish, about 4 hours east of Alex. Then if you look down toward the bottom of the Sinai, you'll see Dahab, Sharm and Hurghada, towns that I've mentioned in other blog entries.

Last weekend a group of us teacher-types took a weekend trip to El Arish. It's about a 4 hr drive north-east of Cairo, off of the Mediterranean Sea.




I went last year as well, around the end of May, but I don't think I ever got around to sharing any of those photos, so I've picked my favorites and mixed 'em up here. The crab photos are from my first trip. They were all up and down the beach, but they'd quickly scurry out of the way. Unlike the many jelly fish that were there this time. Just about every person that went into the water was stung. I kept to the salt water pool.... which was so salty I effortlessly floated on the surface.
